I am blessed

Writing in honor of Marie Lisa Opetaia-Williamson

She was loved. She was blessed. She was Marie Opetaia-Williamson. She was a daughter, sister, and love of a lifetime. She was unique and proud of it. She was an individual who was part of a community of wonderful people. Marie was absolutely beautiful in every way possible. This morning we lost her to her battle with leukemia. We ask that at this time that all who loved her and knew her to take a moment and remember the wonderful things about Marie.

There will be plans for her memorial service to come and I will post them for you all. May God bless you and keep you and hold you close in his loving arms during this time of remembrance.

Love,
Sheri O-W

Dear marie,
I’m sorry this had to happen to you at a early age. I love you very much and I’m going to miss you a lot. You are such a great person, vibrant, alive, full of life and full of love. I know that deep down in my heart you are with God, and you are in a better place now. You always be remembered as my loving niece who was always happy, peaceful & strong. Missy and I met you over 6 years ago and can't thank God enough for the time we knew you. I will always remember playing paintball and having lan parties over at Joel's and how your laugh sounded.....you were so nice to laugh at us even when it was too dumb to be funny. And I know Missy will never forget hanging out with you at the Pidcock's baking and laughing and making a huge mess of their kitchen. We can't wait to laugh with you again- Missy and Robbie

Hey Sweetie,
We are so sorry your time has come to get off this magical ride we call life. Those of us you have left behind will truely miss your huge smile, wild hair and beautifully rich laughter. You have truely blessed everyone you came in contact with, and we will all be so much better for it. We are indeed honored to have called you a friend and adopted daughter. Though you were with us for such a short time you will remain in our hearts forver. When our time comes we hope you'll be saving a place for us next to you on the other side.
Love you always Dave and Leona

Dear Marie, We loved your visits. The birthday parties, the BBQ's, watching horror movies, baking cookies, and our talks. What fun we had. Mike and you would visit and we would laugh and talk for hours. What a wonderful woman. So strong, so talented, so loved and wise beyond your years. To your family - thank you for sharing your beautiful daughter and sister with us. She was truly amazing. We all were truly blessed.

As David said, we will love you always.

I'd come home from work everyday and check your blog. I was amazed at how you were so positive and strong when anybody else would have given up. I'm sad we were not closer friends, because I always admired you. I'd watch you play paintball and wish I wasn't meek and could be like you. I'm so sorry your gone but I know you will share your beautiful laugh with the angels.

My dearest cousin Marie,
Although we were seperated by distance, please know that you were always in my thoughts and prayers. It saddens me that you had to leave us at such an early age but I know you're in a much better place looking down on us. You will forever hold a special place in my heart.
I love and miss you dearly.

Marie, you were an exceptional person. I am fortunate to have known you, even if just for a short time here on this earth. I hope to meet you some day and know the blessing that is you once again.

Marie,

I was so blessed to have known you. I remember the day you started working at The Roanoke Times and we sat right next to each other. It was so nice to have such a fun and interesting person to talk to everyday. I know that you have touched many lives, including my own. You were a fighter until the end. I am so proud to call you my friend. Until we meet again...
